Measure real results with tags
Opens and clicks tell you how an email performed. Conversions tell you what it achieved: how many of the people you emailed actually said yes. You mark those people with a tag, and the dashboard and campaign reports count them.
Say you email 20 people with an offer, and 5 of them accept. Open rate and click rate cannot tell you that. Only you know who said yes.
So you tell the app. Give everyone who accepted a tag of your choice, such as lead, customer or booked. Then choose that tag as your conversion tag on the dashboard. From then on:
- the dashboard's Converted card shows how many of the people you emailed carry the tag, for example 5 of 20 people reached (25%);
- every campaign report ends its funnel with a Converted stage, and its Conversions tab lists those people by name;
- on any list, All tags filters the subscribers down to one tag, so you can see and follow up with your leads.
What you can do with Measure real results with tags
Mark who said yes
Tag a person on their profile, many people at once from a list, or automatically with an automation.
Filter by tag
Show only the subscribers who carry one tag, and act on all of them at once.
Converted on the dashboard
See the share of people you emailed who converted, over 7, 30 or 90 days.
Converted per campaign
Each campaign report shows how many of its recipients converted, and who they are.
Tag the people who said yes
Pick one tag and use it every time, for example lead. Upper and lower case do not matter: Lead and lead count as the same tag.
-
Tag one person
Open a list, click Subscribers, and click the person's email address. In the Tags box, type your tag and click +.
-
Tag many people at once
On the list's Subscribers page, tick the people who said yes. Click Actions and choose Add tag(s). Type your tag and click Add Tags.
Filter subscribers by tag
-
Show only one tag
On the list's Subscribers page, open All tags and choose a tag. The number next to each tag is how many people in the list have it. The table now shows only those people.
Your tags come first. Tags added automatically by Lead Scraper and imports are grouped below them by type, such as Location or Technology.
The filter works together with All statuses, All verification and the search box.
-
Act on everyone with the tag
With the filter on, open Select and choose All subscribers. This selects everyone who matches the filter, not the whole list. Then use Actions, for example Copy to another list, to follow up with your leads.
-
See tags in the table
Click Columns, tick Tags and click Apply. A Tags column now shows each person's tags.
Choose your conversion tags
You choose the conversion tags once, for your whole account. The dashboard and every campaign report use the same choice.
-
Find the Converted card
Open the Dashboard. Under the Engagement cards you find Converted. Until you choose a tag it shows a dash and a short explanation, not 0%, because nothing is being counted yet.
-
Pick the tags
Click Choose tags (or Edit if you chose some before). A window opens:
- The tags you chose appear at the top. Click × to remove one.
- Quick add offers common names such as + lead and + customer. Click one to use it, even before anyone has that tag.
- Your tags lists the tags you gave, each with how many people carry it. Tick one or more.
- Automatic tags holds the tags Lead Scraper and imports add, such as location or technology. They are folded away because they are rarely a conversion. Click the heading to open them.
To use any other tag, type it in the search box and press Enter. Click Save. The card updates straight away.

-
On the dashboard
Converted shows the share of people you emailed in the period who now carry a conversion tag, for example 13 of 347 people reached. Switch between 7 Days, 30 Days and 90 Days at the top of the Engagement section.
This card counts people, while the cards above it count emails. Someone who received three campaigns and then became a customer counts once.
-
In a campaign report
Open a sent campaign. What happened to this campaign now ends with a green Converted stage: how many of this campaign's recipients carry a conversion tag.
It has no drop-off number, because someone can convert without clicking or replying, for example after a phone call.
-
See who converted
Click the Conversions tab. It lists every recipient of this campaign who carries a conversion tag, with the tag that made them count. Click an email address to open the person.
Common questions
Why is someone counted who converted before my campaign?
A tag does not remember when it was added. A person counts when they received at least one of your emails in the period and carry a conversion tag now. If you want a fresh count, use a new tag, such as won-2026, and choose it as your conversion tag.
Why does the Converted card show a dash?
You have not chosen a conversion tag yet. Click Choose tags on the card.
Why is Converted 0 of 0?
Nobody received an email from you in the chosen period. Switch to 30 Days or 90 Days.
I tagged someone but the dashboard did not change. Why?
The dashboard numbers are refreshed in the background every few minutes. Reload the page after a short while. The Conversions tab of a campaign report is always up to date.
Do tags in other languages work?
Yes. Tags in any language, for example লিড, are matched and counted like any other tag.
