One place your contacts actually live
Lists, subscribers, tags, custom fields and saved segments — with imports that tell you what happened to every row.
Contacts sit in lists, carry tags and custom fields, and can be sliced into saved segments that keep themselves current. The same segment picks the audience for a campaign, gates a branch in an automation and drives an export — defined once, not three times.
What you get
- Lists with custom fields of your own, not a fixed set of columns.
- Saved segments built from field values, tags and engagement, re-evaluated on every use.
- Tags for the things segments cannot express, applied by forms, funnels, automations or by hand.
- CSV import with field mapping, plus background imports for large files with a job you can watch.
- A profile per subscriber: fields, tags, list membership and the campaigns they were sent.
- Blacklist and suppression handling, so an unsubscribe stays unsubscribed everywhere.
How it works
What using it actually looks like, start to finish.
-
Import or collect
Upload a CSV and map its columns to list fields, or let forms, funnels and the API add people as they arrive. Large files import in the background with a progress record you can check.
-
Describe the slice
Build a segment from field values, tags and engagement, and save it. It is a definition, not a snapshot, so it stays right as the list changes.
-
Reuse it everywhere
That one segment can target a campaign, gate an automation branch, or drive an export — without being rebuilt in each place.
Questions people ask
Do segments update on their own?
Yes. A segment is a saved definition, evaluated when it is used. Someone who matches it tomorrow is included tomorrow, with nothing to refresh.
What happens to a big CSV?
Large imports run as a background job with its own record, so you can close the tab and come back to see how many rows were added, updated or rejected.
Is the same person in two lists counted twice?
Lists are separate audiences, so a contact can exist in more than one. Suppression and unsubscribes are honoured across your account, so being on two lists does not mean being emailed after opting out.
